D-DAY
Though I am not 100% positive, I think that this is a picture of my good friend, Bob Williams, loading up for the D-DAY invasion on June 6, 1944. He sent me this picture but did not identify it except to say "69 years ago June 6, 1944-2013 D-DAY!" There is knife content.
This is the picture that I post every year about this time. It is again of my good friend, Bob Williams, walking off the field after having made the same jump into Normandy fifty years later in 1994 at the age of 72. This picture was also the cover photo for the Time magazine report on the 50th anniversary of D-DAY. Our greatest heros are fading fast. Bob is now 91-years old, though you would never guess it. I am so proud to call this man Friend

Re: D-DAY
Those old guys are/were awesome. You are indeed lucky to have him for a friend. I have an uncle who turns 91 tomorrow that was wounded in France. Shrapnel got the part he couldn't get in the fox hole.

I'm hoping next year, the 70th anniversary, some media outlet will have the sense to replay Pres. Reagan's Normandy speech. I think it was one of his greatest.

What a man, what a great American, what a true Patriot. This video only strengthens and deepens my hatred for the man obama!

Re: D-DAY
I just got home from our monthly VFW meeting; we have one comrade who landed on D-Day - he was rightly the center of attention tonight. He is a nice old gentleman who doesn't want any fuss, but he was a helluva Soldier in his day. BB
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Re: D-DAY
Jerry's right Dimitri, it doesn't always work. Sometimes you end up with an un-clickable link.

Re: D-DAY
I have yet to end up with a link that didn't work at all but I have run into several that didn't work with the YouTube feature. In those cases, I've just posted the URL and left it at that. One I was able to get to work by stripping off the "show other videos at the end" portion of the link but that was just one.
