My Instant Kabar Collection

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

My Instant Kabar Collection

Post by Yankee John »

Up until today, I have only had one Kabar knife in my collection- a genuine WWII USMC fighting knife.

Last week, I helped a friend (who owns an antique store) clear out an estate that he was going to auction off. Fast forward to today, I stopped by his store to see if he had any new stuff. I spied (3) Kabar knife boxes on his desk. I asked him how much, and he handed them to me and said "They're yours, for helping me clear out that estate last week".

They are mint new in the box. An 1100 3-blade knife, a 1152 Scout knife, and a 1030 Trapper knife. The paperwork in the boxes is copyrighted 1981.

Not bad for about 3 hours of work!

Very, very nice for three hours work. And I'm sure you had no expectations when you helped out.
