How old is your Schrade EDC?
Hello to all. I've had the same Schrade old Timer in my pocket for the better part of 25 years. I was just interested on how long people have EDC'd the same Schrade for? Mine shows some blade wear but still good walk and talk
Joe.

Re: How old is your Schrade EDC?
Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard.
I bought a Schrade 108OT in the late '60s and carried it for quite a few years. I'm sorry, I don't know how long. Back in those days, it was much more important to me that I had a knife in my pocket than what pattern it was or even what make it was. As you can see, it's been sharpened a time or two.
Lately, I've been carrying an 863 that was gifted to me by another AAPK member (Thanks Squirrel <Rocky1122>). I'm a big fan of the pattern. Much more so than the maker.

Re: How old is your Schrade EDC?
Thanks for the reply's jerryd6818 and garddogg56. Looks like those knives have had some good honest wear... Back in the early 1980's when I was in my early teens and decided I would like a small pocket knife there was not much variety around (in Australia) mainly Joseph Rodgers, Puma's, Taylor's and Schrade o/t's are about the only ones I can think of. I remember an old timer add in one of the shooting magazines that said "try one of these in you pocket for 40 years and let us know what you think" or something to that effect. So I bought an O/T 340t and it's been in my pocket ever since. Nice to see some more Schrade's that have seen a lot of pocket time. Thanks

I saw this thread and had to chime in. I can't remember for sure how many years I have had my old Timer 34ot but it was before I got married and had kids. That would make it almost 20 years and it is still around. I do use it from time to time to clean other knives and such. The blades all are wore down to a nub and all 3 blades have been 're profiled over the years and the backsprings are pretty weak but it still is being used. I will have to take some pics and post the old feller. You couldn't beat them OT for the price and it is just what I grew up with. I was still a young man win I got that knife and it has seen use every since.

Pre 1973, I haven't used it all these years but I like to carry this old Schrade Walden 881. It is the same frame as an 8OT Old Timer.

I don't edc this one in day to day life, but it's been my deer hunting edc since I got it in 1985...so that's means it's been in service for 28 years or so!

thawk- Man she still looks almost brand new or at least in great shape. Great looking knife.
313 Mike-Boy you wont find a better deer knife than that one and it still looks great. That pattern has always been one of my favorite knives out of all the OT.
I got a nice old Imperial/Schrade that was made by Camillus that has never been used but it sure looks like it would work very well as a deer knife. It is still sharp enough to shave with but like I said it has never been used.
