If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Jerry, If the Reds can't start showing some offence I doubt they'll even contend for a playoff spot. back in 1963 I had attened a Reds game against the Cubs and I had gotten Ron Santo's autograph. ftd

Still 59 games to go Ferg. That's a lot of baseball and anything can happen and in the past has happened. As a Cubs fan, I'm very familiar with fading down the stretch. Only with the Cubs it usually starts sometime around April 2nd.

Reds are still 4.5 games ahead of D-Backs for that second wild card spot. Have faith.

The Greenville Drive have not had a very good season this year. (47-60)
But they overcame SIX ERRORS - yes, SIX FIELDING ERRORS - and a six run deficit, to come back and beat the Savannah Sand Gnats by a score of 8 - 6 today.
They won in spectacular fashion. Back to back homeruns in the eight inning. The first was a three run homer, immediately followed by the second HR. Fireworks and chaos ensued.
I got to enjoy it all with my best girl, and we even had a box of CRACKER JACKS. Yep, I didn't care if we ever got back... ::ds::

Greenville has an unusual mascot. It's a frog. His name is Reedy Rippit. The name comes from the Reedy River that runs through Greenville.
Here he is doing the hokey pokey.

Watching the Braves whip the Phillies right now on ESPN. If they win this one that will make the second 10 game winning streak for the Braves this year! ::ds::

My wife, granddaughter & I went to the docks yesterday in Newport Oregon and bought 4 tuna off a fishing boat, average about 19 lbs each.
We started canning them this afternoon, so I went to the TV to find a ballgame to watch while we canned the tuna: no ballgame, no TV!
Our Direct TV is out! So I talked to them: Image
They will have someone out Wednesday to fix it! Image

Well that sux, Dale. Look on the bright side. At least your Internet access is working and you can get on AAPK. If that were gone, it would be time to panic.

I did see that A-Rod is gone until 2015, pending appeals of course.

jerryd, he'll be able to play during the grievance period so we might see him sooner than expected . . . like right now. I have lost all faith in that liar though, he needs to go away.

*Edit- playing Third, batting fourth.

I played for the Little League Yankees as a kid, parents and grandparents were Yankees fans. So I grew up a Yankee fan. Since the Expos moved to DC I've been cheering and supporting the local team, I live about 7 miles from the park. Hope the Nats can get on a streak but it's looking like this isn't their year, like everyone expected. Still, I've been to several games so far, have tickets to 3 more over the next 2 weeks. Win or lose, I love going to a game.

Yeah, for the past two weeks, the talking heads have been explaining all the options. There's lots of stuff involve "if he does this and if he does that then this could happen, yadda, yadda, yadda"

Since he's suspended until 2015 he may as well ride it out and do every thing he can to keep playing. Doesn't surprise me he's playing tonight. He's probably done for after the suspension anyway.

A 14 game winning streak? Really? I think y'all are cheatin' down there.

Should extend that streak to 15 tonight since they're still playing Miami, who's tied with the White Sox for the second worst record in MLB. There's no pride in whoopin' up on cripples.

Kash Beauchamp - manager of the Wichita Wingnuts - tells the ump that his call stinks.
Kash was the manager of the ANDERSON JOES in the short-lived South Coast League independent league.
He is quite colorful.

Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win! ::ds::

Took the second in a row from the Cards in St Louis. Last night they blanked 'em in their own park for the first time since 1997. Now if they can just take one more from them tomorrow..... ::pray:: It would be really sweet to sweep the 1st place Red Birds in their own park. I don't see that happening with Edwin Jackson taking the mound tomorrow for the Cubs but stranger things have happened.
