how do i properly center a blade?

how do i properly center a blade?

the last few knives that i put back together the blade seems to rub to the right. when i peen i put a layer of coke can aluminum under both sides of the bolster/blade. what am i doing wrong?

It is called crinking .............
He is hitting the blade near the tang with a soft but heavy mallet in the direction he wants it to bend.
He is also protecting the knife with a cloth and propping the blade on a piece of soft wood.
The blade only needs to bend slightly. so small soft hits with the hammer is best.
Plus if you hit it too hard the blade can break.
I've done it a couple of times before and it worked.
You just need to be careful. Maybe practice on a cheap knife first.
