Surgeon's set
I figured this would be the place to post this. I have always wanted a Surgeon's set for my collection and finally got one I could afford. It is marked on a few of the pieces J.Gray & Son Sheffield. I think the handles are horn but am not sure, might be a dark wood like ebony!!

Mike -- With some heavy duty magnification (45X or so), it should be easy enough to tell. It's a neat set but for some reason, it gives me the hebe jebes.

Now that is a term I have not heard except by me in a LONG time!!! It does me too now that I have the set!! My friend Donna is trying to talk me out of it and is using the hebe jebes thing to try an persuade me!!!
I have not had the time to do a proper check on the handles yet been crazy at work and on my days off.

Wow. That is one nice set. Here is a small accumulation from the earlier days. Other than the saw I have no idea. The duck bill looking device in the middle is clearly marked St. Mary's which was an early hospital that shut down 50 or so years ago.
Astoria is noted as the First White settlement West of the Rockies'. At least one piece has the initials of the MD who owned it.
