Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

What I would like to see. Pittsburgh win the division and the Reds and Cardinals do the one game wild card thing with Cincinnati winning.

I would like to see a Pittsburgh vs Rangers W.S. but I doubt that's going to happen. Atlanta and Boston??? Sox with their third Series win in ten years???

I wouldn't worry too much about it Blue. The Cubs have been winning one game in a series and losing (most of the time) the rest.

I see that I'm not the only Reds fan on here, thanks to Philco, I've been a Reds fan since I was 6 years old. The Reds won today, along with the Bengals and Browns. I hope the Reds don't choke and can win the central divison. ftd

It's going to be an exciting week for the National League Central Division.

Yeah Blue. I saw the celebrating going on in the dugout during the Cubs game. Are ya happy now? :lol:

Alright, the Braves got 'er done - first time in a few years (2005) for a division championship. OH

The Braves won the NL West 1991–93 and the NL East 1995–2005 (1994 was the year of the strike). Fourteen consecutive times as division champs is nothing to sneeze at. Plus they've won a World Series every place they've played. Boston in 1914, Milwaukee in 1957 and Atlanta in 1995. Think they'll have to move again if they want to win another Series? :mrgreen:

Yee Haw. ::ds::
It looked like Chicago treated the team well. According to the announcers, the staff was very helpful in providing for the Braves needs for the celebration. I saw they had hung plastic all around the locker room to protect stuff from the champagne spray. Someone had the forethought to provide goggles. I wonder how much $$$ was spent on all that champagne and pricey cee-gars...

Jerry! Your Cubbies let me down. They let the pirates win to remain tied with the Reds. ftd

And then they did it again last night. Cincinnati couldn't do their part so now the Pirates are one game up on the Reds. That pesky Cardinals team just keeps winning so no one can make any progress (7-3 over the last 10).

It will all shake out this weekend. Cardinals vs Cubs and Pirates vs Reds.

The play-by-play announcers and color commentators with their constant analyzing of the game drive me nuts. There are times it gets so bad I mute the TV. I don't need them tell me how the game should be played. If they're so damned smart, why aren't they managing a team instead of sitting up there second guessing the players and managers on the field. Blah!

And while I'm at it, when they're announcing a game the Yankees are playing in, their constant worship at the altar of the New York Yankees makes me want to go all Elvis on the TV.

Thanks. I needed that.

Cheer up Ferg. The Reds have clinched a playoff berth. Don't be such a Gloomy Gus, the Pirates still have a chance in hell of taking the division away from those nasty old Cardinals if the Cubs can perk up and do their job.

Two out with the count 0&2, 1&2, 3&2, as long as you have one strike left, there's still hope.

+1 ::ds::
And one more extreme closeup of Andy Pettit will cause me to lose my lunch.

On a different note, I enjoyed seeing the "almost" brawl between the Brave and Brewers last night. Hopefully that will wake the Bravos from their collective slumber party.

Don't forget the Yankee's role model A-Rod. Jerry, I love the Reds but 1 & done is it. When you have $8 - $10 million dollar players go o'fer the game in clutch at bats you tend to be skeptial. Note yesturdays ::dang:: 1 run loss 1-0 , and Latos's well pitched game down the crapper! ftd

Ferg -- Try being a Cub fan and watching them blow a 9 run lead in the 9th.

Check this out. Baseball at another level. :)
