Holding one of several issue M1911A1 pistols I shot in the late 1970's and early 1980's - I am the big guy kneeling on the right in this picture. We were at the ARNG National Championship matches at Camp Robinson Arkansas. Today I only own one M1911A1, a stock, commercial Colt Series 70 that I have owned since about the time this picture was taken. At one time I owned a nearly perfect DCM/GI Remington-Rand that I very much regret selling. OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Who could have imaged the service 1911's would have skyrocketed in price like they have. I am keeping my eye out for one of those Remington-Rand at a decent price.
Here are a few more that I have recently owned. The Star 9mm is one that really surprised me, wish I would have kept it.
