Are There Any BASEBALL Fans On The Forum?

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

To say the least, Charlie. I think the worst recently was the Bartman game against the Marlins in game 6 of the 2003 playoffs. Hadn't won a National League pennant since 1945 and still haven't. So freakin' close... ::facepalm::

Well, my teams fizzled this year (Nationals & Yankees) but good luck to the ones who made the Post!

There's a very serious chance of a three way tie for the two wildcard slots in the American League. Tampa Bay (vs Toronto) and Texas (vs the Angels) have to win and Cleveland (vs the Twins) has to lose. Hey! It could happen. The story should be told by 5:00.

Congratulations to you Texas Ranger fans. Winning seven in a row to finish out the season in a tie with Tampa Bay for one of the AL wild card slots is no small feat. I'll be tuned into TBS tonight at 7PM Central, at least until 9PM when Castle comes on.

After 20 years below .500, they deserve it.

Actually, after 105 years without a world series and 68 years without a pennant, the Cubs deserve it but that nasty little requirement that says you have to be able to play baseball keeps getting in the way.

My condolences to the Reds fans. I was happy to see the Pirates win but disappointed with the performance of Sean Marshall. He was my favorite reliever when he was with the Cubs. He never made my butt pucker when they brought him into the game. It was very rare that he fell through his a** like last night. Of course you can't can't throw that loss completely on his shoulders. Reds hitting left a lot to be desired or was the Pirates pitching just that good. ::hmm::

::dang:: I told you so that they'd choke! $10 million players go o'fer and fielders play like little leaguers, but i'll watch them next year, maybe the 3rd time is the charm. So i'll now root for the Pirates to beat the Cardinals, Now i'll watch the Indians and maybe they will do better. ftd

I'm pretty amazed with what Tampa Bay can do on a buck-two-ninety-eight payroll but I can pull for Cleveland (until they meet the Pirates). Cleveland hasn't won a Series since 1948 and I have a tendency to root for the underdog.

It astounds me what St. Louis has done. They lose most all their high profile players and their very successful manager and still take the Division. ::shrug:: It must be something in the water.

As for the Cubs. IT'S NOT THE GOAT!! It's Wrigley Field. Until they move out of there, they will never win a World Series. Why you say?

It's because, at the turn of the 20th century, the block bounded by Clark, Addison, Waveland, and Sheffield streets (current site of Wrigley Field) was home to the Chicago Lutheran Theological Seminary. You can't build a baseball stadium on holy ground and expect God to just forgive and forget.

Braves & Dodgers.

Okay. The first pitch hasn't even been thrown yet and already I want to run down the street naked, pulling my hair out. That tomahawk chop drives me insane.

Aw, come on Pittsburgh. One run is all you could muster. Get it in gear, 'cause the Cardinals are not going to let up.

Way to go Dodgers. Now we want to see two more like that.
