Big congrats Guard and Phil on your successful hunts! Way to bring home the venison, outstanding work gentlemen. ::tu::

Here's me in a blind not shooting a deer.. ::facepalm::
GEDC2733.JPG
For what it's worth, I did see a really big 8 point buck from this blind a few hours before I took this picture....He was about 45 yards out in front of me broadside...if I would have been gun season he would be a dead buck right now. Instead, he is still out there roaming the woods...and we have officially named that spot the " Big 8 Blind" in his honor...

Mike I've been on many a deer hunt that failed to produce a harvest of game, but I never see the time I spend "out there" in a deer blind or tree stand as time wasted. Some of my most memorable outdoor experiences came while waiting for the buck that never showed up. Even if nothing "happens" there's a quiet peace and time for reflection that are seldom available in this hurry up world we live in. To my way of thinking, that is time very well spent.

Mike, I'm glad to see you made it home safe and sound. Today, my daughter is on her way home from Kansas City and of course Dad worries.

Scott, I appreciate the kind words my friend!

Jerry, thanks again for helping me with the posting while I was gone....and I'm sure your daughter will make it home fine!

Phil, you are absolutely correct. I wouldn't trade my time in the woods for anything, it is magical, spiritual, and truly re-charges the soul..harvesting a deer is just the icing on the cake.

Dogg....that group shot saluting our enemies is KICK A$% !!! Love it...that should be blown up to poster size and put up on the wall of your deer camp/shack...classic.

Decided to move my game camera close to my brother-in-law's hunting hunt, facing his solar controlled corn bucket. Looks like more than just deer like to eat corn! Not a big black but he/she is pretty rolly-polly looking. Hope it stays over here on his side of the property and away from my area. We all have huts or tree stands but bears pretty much go where they feel like going. From the date stamp on the photos, looks like it's been camping out for a week.

Thanks! Wish the flash was a little better but this is a $40 IR camera I picked up at Sportsman's Guide. You can drop a lot more on one that even does video but I couldn't see spending much on something I'm leaving tied to a tree in the woods.
