Our forecast is calling for rain turning into freezing rain with ice accumulations of up to 3/4 inch then followed by up to eight inches of snow and temperatures falling into the single digets. We got hit in Jan. '09 with that same ice storm that WB showed photos of. I was without electricity for eight days after that. I'm sure not looking toward the next 24 hours or so with glad anticipation. Oh how I hope the weatherman is wrong this time!

Phil you're making me feel petty for whining about running the snow blower in 10º weather. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya Bud.

John -- I only have one thing to say about that. "Electric start snow blower with heated grips!" ::tu::
I don't have heated grips but it sure sounds nice.

Raining like cats and dogs, we're below freezing, it should change to ice any minute now, and according to the radar big snow is headed in.

Low tonight 15° and it won't be above freezing tomorrow. Yep Phil, interesting here in the commonwealth!

The storm's out of the NW. Here's a pic of my deck on the east side of the house. We have an inch of pure skeet so far and it's still sleeting. It's forecasted to be 4-7 inches of sleet and snow here. Everything will be shut down for a week.

I feel for y'all. I really do but I hope y'all don't get mad at me if I say, I'm glad it's not me. Our 3.5" of snow was nice and dry and it's -6º this morning. I'm sick of it. Will winter never end?

We'll probably be wishing for a little cooler weather before the summer ends. Isn't that the way it usually goes? ::facepalm::

I'm happy to say the power is still on here on the creek. The freezing rain didn't last as long as predicted before changing over to sleet then snow. It's a slick mess this morning and my front door is frozen shut, but at least the lights and heat are still on.

My doors are frozen shut too. Cuz I just looked at the closing on the TV station here that covers about 1/5 or so of the state here in the southern part of KY. All colleges and universities are closed, all, schools, most factories at least the first shifts are cancelled, most of the banks, DR.'s offices, private businesses, and county governments.

We had close to an inch of ice, then we got about an inch and a half of sleet, now on top on top of that we have 3-4 inches of snow and it's still coming down. It's snowpocalypse!

Now Cuz you know me better than that, I weren't up on my hind legs at all. I was just, in my precoffee stupor, saying that Brother Phil probably didn't have to go to work at all.

I don't know if frozen doors are a valid excuse. Where I work, hunting season is semi valid though. Oh and one year the green river just about over flowed the dam we'd had so much rain and snow. We'd got to about two foot of the top and thought we were going to have to call off school since the road would be covered. It was hilarious to hear students and faculty alike talking about the "dam road". "Hey, is the water over the dam road?"

Not bring from there I'd laugh and snicker. They just looked at me, line "what?". That was the name of the road...... The dam road.

Ugly day here in Nashville today. In the 20s and snow is falling, after getting some ice over night. The whole town is shut down but the roads are very passable still. Tomorrow I think may be worse than today. With a possible low around 14 tonight, we will be in worse shape tomorrow. ::facepalm::

Be careful Perry. Our roads here in the sticks are might nigh impassable. Even the city schools are closed down.

We got a little snow. Not enough to cover the ground but it's the principle of the thing. Damnit it's Spring.
