What's going on with this UH285?

Need a little Schrade knowledge pointed toward LA .
Posted this knife last evening in the "Knife Finds of the Day". Got to looking at it and then looked at a lot of them on ebay, the nail nicks are on the mark side of all I could see, even those made elsewhere. This has the nail nick of the spay blade on the pile side. Is this odd or am I not seeing the whole picture? Also, I'm assuming that since the "hinge pin" or rivet can be seen in the bolster this one was made by some other company than Schrade, possibly Camillus .

This is a Camillus knife. After Schrade closed (or maybe even before?), Camillus made a yellow Delrin "Schrade" muskrat knife with one of the blades a spey. Perhaps this would be one of those? Just guessing. Try to find other Camillus knives with a spey. That's the best I can think of. Interesting.

There was a couple of Uncle Henry's made by Camillus and some Schrade whittlers 8401.
Dale might be able to tell you the other Uncle Henry number.

Update. I was just looking through a stack of boxes of knives ready to list on ebay (because they won't give me a store on AAPK), and I found one of those Camillus muskrat knives I alluded to above. It indeed has that very spey blade with a pile-side nail nick. Bingo.

Thanks tongueriver, that could be the answer. Being used to carrying Trapper patterns, this one is really awkward when choosing to open the spay blade. This might be one of those 5 o'clock Friday afternoon knives, "Hey, I'm outta blades, give me one of them, it'll work."

If Camillus made it for Schrade they would have made it according to the Schrade pattern, with both nail nicks on the mark side.
In all the Camillus made Schrade knives I have seen there is little or no variation from the Schrade except for the through pin construction.

The Schrade stamped knives Camillus made after 2004 for Taylor were special runs.
I am unaware of any made by Camillus with the Uncle Henry name, shield or with Staglon handles.

I doubt it was a wrong blade on Friday afternoon, because I don't think that blade would even have been in the Schrade factory in the first place.

I think what happened is someone changed the spey blade in that knife and replaced it with a Camillus blade.
Camillus made trappers models with the nicks on the pile side as well as ones with the nick on the mark side like Schrade.
Or it could be a Case, Queen or some other brand blade also.

See how the pin has pulled (sunken into the bolster)?
The person who changed the blade probably didn't use enough taper to the hole when they re-pinned the knife.
If it is seated solidly now and no wobble, is shouldn’t hurt a thing.
Probably be a great user!

Thanks Dale. There is no blade wobble. Since the clip blade appears not to have been sharpened, why do you suppose the spay was changed? Maybe somebody did as I did yesterday and broke a blade . Don't recall seeing too many spay blades broken, usually the tips of pointy ones. That old thought, "If knives could talk" sure would come in handy at AAPK. It would be interesting to know how and why this one ended up like this.
