The reason they are like that is they are part of a magic trick.You display the knives with both white sides showing and then do a little sleight of hand(turning the one with the black handle around)and display them again making it appear that it has changed color. That one sure is. I had one years ago and it looked like that when I got it, but after I carried it in my pocket awhile all the printing wore off. It is as plain as can be now.
