Wow Phil. You're right on the button today. That's one I had never seen nor heard of but good old Google has some pictures that support Phil's information.

My latest addition for "homeland defense" a Colt M4 patrol carbine with a 1.5 x 4 Leupold. In the process of breaking it in right now, 300 rounds and no hiccup's, may have to take it hog hunting... ::nod::

Looks good WelderBob. ::tu::
I am a fanboy of the Magpul stuff.
Is that the Leupold Mark AR with BDC? What's the make of the scope mount you're using?

Blue it is a Mark AR with BDC, but it's set for 55 grain bullets and I shoot 62's and heavier, will see how it works. Mount is a La Rue QD, very well built. Magpul make's some fine accessory's and their mag's are the best around.

I can't seem to wrap my mind around a 1911 in .22 cal. I'm not saying I wouldn't buy one if I had that much discretionary cash laying around. The 1911 frame is just an awesome firearm and one of my top two favorites (Ruger Single Six being the other.). I'm just saying that combination (concept) makes my brain cage go sideways. ::cb::

Jerry
You need to try a 1911 .22 cal for yourself, I own three of them and the feel is great and the accuracy is incredible too.
That Colt is one I've wanted for many years.....JEARL you enjoy that gun and let me know how it shoots for you.

Seems like a .22 sleeve, insert or just an extra barrel was made available at one time to covert a .45 ACP 1911 to a .22 RF.

That facilitated less expensive target shooting.

Also, Heckler & Koch used to a sale a boxed semiautomatic pistol with multiple barrels in different calibres, like .22, .380, 9mm and .45. Not sure about the .45. I think there might have been five barrels in all.

Camillus, I plan on keeping this one and enjoying it. I had a Ruger Mark II gov't model that was very accurate that I shot frequently. I had a chance to shoot the Colt Ace this weekend. All I can say is WOW. Only shot ten rounds but functioned perfect and the accuracy is superb. I would put it a little better than the Ruger. and that is saying a lot. I didn't believe I could find a handgun more accurate. I have a Wilson Combat 22 conversion that I use on my 45, the two don't compare. Selling conversion kit now lol. I am going to get a Colt letter to see if the nickel finish is original, everyone that has seen it in person thinks that it is. I am hoping it is original but wouldn't surprise me if the original finish was blue, just super rare in nickel.

Here's an internet photo of the Heckler & Koch HK-4 with multiple barrels and magazines. However, the labels in the cases plainly read "Harrington & Richardson", who I assume imported and sold these, as well.

They came cased in two separate boxes.

Seems like these sold for about $300.00 when they first came out. I saw today where one sold at auction for $1200.00.

This is a great video, very informative. 4 million 22 rounds per day! When you do a little math by figuring how many 50 round boxes in a years' time or any combination of days, week, months, etc.. that's a lot of ammo for there to be a "real" shortage ::shrug:: . It would be interesting to follow a pallet of ammo from the factory and see how it would be distributed to stores and shops and then to individual shooters.

Today was one of those days that doesn't happen very often! Fell into a little extra money, then fell into a couple guns on the same day!

First up is a 1979 Marlin 1894 .357 mag that I bought at an estate sale this morning. I've wanted one since I was a kid in the 80's. This one is a real JM Marlin with no stinking safety! Other than the years of dust the only blemish was a tiny scuff on the stock that ought to rub right out. She shoots sweet!

Next is a Marlin 336 that dad found in a pawn shop the other day. He told me about it and my WIFE declared we had to go buy it for HER. What could I do? It's a 1958-59 Marlin 336 30-30 with an old Simmons scope, sling, and a factory period correct youth stock. Not bad for $225 out the door. The other, well we won't talk about that price........
