I can honestly say this is the first time I didn't screw something up.... cause usually I bugger the bolsters, chip the bone, leave gaps you can fly through, or ........ wait, ...... wait for it..........

....... use the wrong bloody backspring and not figure it out till it's all pinned up !

I don't think there is a person anywhere who has done much restoration/repair work on knives that has not made each of those mistakes multiple times!

Mistakes are the main teacher I had for knife repair, there was not many guys writing about knife repair, mainly Kaleb (MM) & myself and we both started about the same time. The books on knife repair are only valuable to a point, after that you have to be working on knives.

In Knife Repairs: Doing = Learning. Mistakes = Learning a Lot Faster!

Some of the most important things I have learned about knife repair (and life in general) came from first making a mistake.

Very nice job. Sometimes time off can actually help. Doesn't look like it hurt you at all.

A fellow maker told me long ago to keep my mistakes because it will help you remember to not repeat them. Almost everything I have learned about knife making and repair I have done on my own through trial and error. I have some poorly ground blades and a mark side knife handle that I made for a knife that only had one mark side handle. Yeah, I made two for the same side.
