The nessmuk seems to be a very popular pattern these days, and everyone wants one. There are dozens if not hundreds of interpretations of this knife, all in different configurations, but this is my recreation of the knife, making it as close to the original as possible. I made this up a while back, just never posted it. It was sold to a very happy customer.

Excellent interpretation!

Too bad he did not show his sheath on the back of his ditty bag. It's up to our own imaginations and some historical research.

I think the rise in popularity is due to the "lightweight" movement. People getting back to "the basics".

Looks very good. I like what you did. You did a great job of making the knife to the sketch.

Looks like you used the artficial sinew on the stitching and did quite well. Hows the back of the sheath look? The stitching there, the hard part to get straight.

I finally got mine to look the same by buying Chuck Burrows DVD on knife sheaths and the other on gun holsters. There are some hints on both DVD's that are helpful on making sheaths. Both are 2 DVD set's and contain a lot of information.

Hukk, the stitchting did turn out well, it is artificial sinew, I didn't take a pic of the back of the sheath before I shipped it out

Glad to hear it, you'll hear that a lot on other forums, especially the leather guys, "what's the back look like". Seems like I see it everytime I see a sheath posted, unless it's from the masters. Looking good! Now you can add leather work to your resume. I enjoy it myself, completely different from knife making. Nice work, I like the knife and sheath!
