Wow, what a difference Scan Disc and De Frag makes!

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Wow, what a difference Scan Disc and De Frag makes!

Post by dewman »

My computer has been on the fritz for the past week, all kinds of little notices poping up telling me so and so can't be ran because the computer can't find program so and so, or I need to insert disc so and so for the computer to boot up. Also, it's been running slower than molasses in January lately. So....last night, before bedtime, I set the little system helper to run scan disc and defrag....and viola! Runs like crap through a goose this morning! I also ran Adaware and it found 26 items that had been secretly added onto my computer. So, they got circular filed also.

If any of you guys DON'T have Ad-Aware installed on your computer, I highly suggest it. It's a totally free download. No hidden costs. No ad's coming up as a result. Works great. I usually run it about once a week. It will go completely through your computer and weed out any attached "spyware" that's been secretly installed on your computer. Then, it will give you a list, and you have the option of deleting them or not. Here's the URL. Just follow the instructions. Very user friendly....and highly recommended.

I've been using Lavasoft's ad-aware for years. Great protection from Malware and the best freeware protection on the market. ::tu:: ::tu::
