Case XX 3254 Resto Mod
This was a two bladed trapper made in the 90's. We disassembled it, removed a blade, and put a rope style filework on the backspring. It polished up pretty well. We are just getting into customizing and restoring old junky knives, and really enjoy it.

These make great EDC knives. I like the single blade in a trapper pattern.

Wes, besides you, who's "we"? That's a good job and a fine looking result.
Edit: Can we put you on the list of knife mechanics?

Sorry my last post was in a hurry, I found the mechanic swap shop forum, but sure.u can add us to the list. We love knives and working on them. I've tinkered with knives for years, my buddy Kelvin is just getting into it, but he has learned quick, weve been friends a long time and have decided to put our tools and knowledge together and fix a few knives. If we make lil money along the way that's just a plus because we really love bringing an old cruddy knife back to life.

It's not an "on paper" list. Just in the minds of members of who does knife mechanic work and is willing to take on projects.

Re: Case XX 3254 Resto Mod
Nice work.
I find knife restoration/customization is far more addictive than knife collecting!
I don't know any rich knife makers, most of them have a 2nd job that provides bread and beans for the family.
Knife making is kind of like farming: a farmer was asked what he would do with the $10 million he won in the lottery. He replied, "I 'spect I can keep farmin' for 3 or 4 more years."
They have government subsidies for farmers, but I have not heard of government subsidies for knife makers/repairman.

I don't even pretend to make money on knife repair and custom work. It's just a nice benefit that helps offset my investment in equipment, sanding belts, sandpaper, parts knives and bone, stag & hardwoods for handles.cannonball242000 wrote: If we make lil money along the way that's just a plus because we really love bringing an old cruddy knife back to life.
