Schrade - Walden 225H question
Picked up this Schrade on ebay and was wanting more info on when it was made (approx.). As you can see by the photo it has Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A. and 225H> stamped on the blade. It is large (9") overall open. and had two blades , one skinner type and one large clip point. Looks like brown delrin handle scales with 3 rivets. and a hole for a thong cord. It's used but built like a tank with really good springs. Would appreciate any info and comments!
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I sold one of these in mint condition earlier this year for $60 so I figure that your knife would be in the $35-$40 range (my opinion only) .

Re: Schrade - Walden 225H question
The 225H was made from 1957 to 1975.
The Schrade Walden tang stamp means that it was made prior to mid 1973.
The fact that it has Delrin handles means that it was made after Schrade started using Delrin probably about 1962 or 1963.
I would date that knife circa 1962 – 1973. Sorry but that's as close as I can get. Schrade didn't mark knives with the years they were made, except for anniversary knives.

Re: Schrade - Walden 225H question
I think Bob is right about on with the value. The "Walden" stamp makes it more desirable, but the condition takes away from that some. It's still a great knife, and should provide years of use.

I'd do $22 on that all day long. As you said, the blades look pretty full.
Good score.
