These are 2 Japanese kitchen knives I made for my fishing buddy's mother.
The blanks came from Jantz Supply; they have a VG10 steel core that is clad in 410 Damascus stainless steel.
The handles are African Blackwood held on by mosaic pens.
I believe these blanks probably come from the same factory that makes the Shun knives.
The blade of the large knife is almost identical to a Shun Santoku.
I think my buddy's mom will enjoy her Christmas present.

VG 10 steel is a very high quality stainless and in my opinion one of the best. Nice job !
