For you Schrade a holics.

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Especially those who like Scrimshaws.
Just picked this up a few days ago. Talked to a couple of members about it. Seems to appear for the first time in the 1979 catalogue. That could be wrong, but it is there.
It is flat black with what seems to be an acryllic window the backboard is covered with supposedly a red velcro type fabric. Looks like velvet to me. There is only display space, no storage area. It unclips from the top in back. Have included plenty of photos. In jpg 12 you are looking from the back with cover down thru the window at a gerber mark2 lying in the front. I am planning to trade or sell it eventually on this site. I imposed on Orvet for a picture of it from his catalogue. It is certainly nice to be among such a learned group of knife afficianados. Question or need more pics. let me know.
