Enjoying my snow day here in Alexandria, VA. It's been pretty chilly, supposedly Thursday will be pushing 0°F again.

We ended up with about 11 inches of snow yesterday, best I can determine. I live on a hill with a 1/4 mile driveway to negotiate. I managed to get out and back up the hill today but my F 150 4x4 was bellying out all the way down the hill. By staying in my tracks I was able to make it back up without getting stalled out but it was touch and go for a minute or two. Right now it's sunny and not bad at about 21 degrees with no wind, but we're predicted to get more snow tomorrow and then hit a low of -15 on Thursday. Sure makes me glad I live in the south where the winters are "mild".

I guess everyone is getting hit this year Phil.I was supposed to be in Louisville for the car show this weekend but I don't see that happening. We haven't got much snow but it has been bitter cold. The whole week it has been hovering at zero or below and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight.
My son is still dealing with about 8 feet of snow at his home in Massachusetts and they are getting more this week.

I live on a hill too, and it's up hill either way I turn out of my drive, so we haven't been out yet except to feed and play in the snow a bit. Our road (state road) just got scraped and salted a min ago.

Here's some pics, notice how pitiful our spoiled chickens are!

About the same here Phil, except my driveway is only a c150 ft. or so. But the rural road is clear,if I can get out of my driveway.Bad timing for my furnace to go out though. ::td:: Have to order a new heat exchanger.

John we got another 2 inches this morning, winds 35 miles an hour on and off. It's nasty out there. Thankfully a guy from church brought his 4x4 tractor over and scraped our drive, ought to be able to get out now.

The hounds won't even get out of their houses. All holed up just like the rabbits!

It's 21 with wind gusts here. And dropping too. Supposed to take away all our degrees plus some by Friday.

The thermometer will look just like my bank account after a gun and knife show, negative.

I wish I could help. We could use 10 to 15 feet of snow up in the mountains.
There wasn't much of a ski season in Oregon this year as it has been so warm and dry.
60 degrees here today and overcast.

I am concerned about low the snow pack in the mountains. We may have a dry summer.

Perry did you get any ice or was it snow? My wife's mom in Smithville had ice.

Ooh, hate that ice. It's much worse than snow.

-3º here right now and predicted to hit -11º sometime tonight.
