Thanks to all:
No trick, on one shot, the one that shows the gnarly crowns he was actually close enough to use the close up function on camera. I was on my deck looking down about three feet to his head. The biggest secret is learning how to accurately sail their favorite food to them. They are nuts for the right treat. He has a big brother who wasn't around today. I'll try for some pics when he shows up.
