Navy Rope Knife
Here is a English Rope knife I recently finished. 440C blade and backspring. Stabilized maple burl handles. Nickel silver bolsters. Brass liners and pins. 5 1/8" closed length. Thanks to garyflorida for providing me with the stencil for the "NAVY KNIFE" etch.

Nice work Wayne!
It is so shiny and new it doesn't look right to me. I am used to seeing them all rusted and battered!
It is a beauty and I love the etch!

Wayne, that looks like a stone brute. Congratulations of a fine, fine job.

Dimitri the steel is a hefty 5/32" thick. Spring is very strong. You wouldn't want to get your fingers in the way when it snaps closed.

Re: Navy Rope Knife
That is a nice knife, Wayne! I have not had to deal with four inch diameter ropes since I was in the Navy, but that knife looks adequate to cutting them or anything!
