Here are some images of three folding knives I recently completed. Two are bone the other is stag. I am always looking for improvement so tell me what you think. Alabama Damascus . Thanks Charles

Did you grind the blades also? Nice work. They look really nice, I especially like the curved bolster.

My only comment would be to try to leave a little more bark on your stag near the bolsters. I know that can be tough to accomplish, with stag coming in all shapes and contours. If anything, take more off the backside, so that you don't need to haft as much to get level with bolster. Although, maybe that's the look you were going for. If so, my apologies. Not a criticism, just a comment, they look great!

Thanks Glenn! I do all work in house. I am trying to stick with a traditional look in my knives . I like the look of brass liners with NS bolsters . I use Alabama damascus because it is precision ground and relatively inexpensive. I will be making Damascus in house soon. I have a 50lb Little Giant ready for an electric motor. They look very nice, clean simple lines. I like them.
The curved bolsters do add a nice element to the frame which is mostly straight lines. Nice touch. Were they hard to fit?

I know a couple guys who have had to pour extra thick reinforced concrete slabs to mount their Little Giants on.
One fellow had it in his garage and cracked the slab. Had to dig it up the floor and pour an extra thick slab reinforced with rebar so it wouldn't crack again.
I don't know much about them as I don't forge, but apparently they really stress the floor.

We would love to see pictures of your shop and the little Giant when you get it set up.

Dale, I usually don't have any problems fitting dovetailed bolsters but I know it's coming!I just hope I don't have the shrinkage problem that other knifemakers have described. I will post images of the Little Giant as work progresses. Thanks Charles

Now I can see the layers in the steel much better!
