Case knife help please

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Hello,
Not really new to the knife world but not as knowledgeable as I'd like. I recently aquired a WR case brothers knife from Little Valley NY. I was wondering if someone could help with age and value. Thanks in Advance

I do not believe that is a Case knife, rather another brand that has been restamped Case Bros.
Hope I am wrong.

It's definitely not a Case. Looks like a Frost that has been slightly modified.

The bone and bolsters both scream Frost.

Welcome aboard, and to the never ending battle against fake Case pocket knives!

Hello stikman and welcome to AAPK. It's likely that most of us have ended up with fake or questionable or otherwise misrepresented knives. I certainly have. I'm much more confident and competent (I hope :)) in my collecting pursuits than I was a couple of years ago thanks to my participation in this forum and my interactions with other collectors. My experience is that there are far more people with integrity and strong personal values involved in knife collecting than there are who lack those behavior traits.

If you aren't happy with the knife after receiving the feedback from the posts above you should seek a refund from the seller. I hope you don't get too discouraged by this experience. Please feel welcome to post pictures and ask for comments about any knife you might have concerns about. The discussion that results helps many of us learn.

Good luck with your future knife pursuits.
