Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
Well, cute aside, I saw no need to be that close to the metal back stop that offered all kinds of ricocheting possibilities. I thought it was dangerous for the shooter and for the guy filming, especially with a fully automatic rifle.
My friend was giving his three young kids a bit of a tutorial on target shooting at a camp they were staying at and he shot a target pinned to a wet log. The 22 cal. round came directly back at them striking no one. That ended the shooting.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
No offense to anyone, but Hell, what woman?
I've never even heard of a "Bump Stock", which apparently turns any AR-15 type rifle into a virtual full auto rifle.
I do not own an AR-15 in any of its iterations, but if I did, I'd be buying a "Bump Stock" for it.
Why are they still legal and how long will they remain so?
And I'd never place anyone I cared for that close to a metal target. Stupid.
So, I'm old and not easily distracted and miss the thrill of a full auto at my shoulder.
I could handle the firearm a lot more handily than I could the woman, anyway.

Hey Charlie,
The bump fire - or slide stocks - use the recoil to enable you to pull the trigger really fast. You finger doesn't really move - the rifle is sliding back and forth from the recoil. You have to push / pull the rifle forward with your hand that is on the forend to make it work. So it's not technically an automatic because you are pulling the trigger for every shot.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
I realize that, technically, it does not create a "full auto", but the effective rate of fire is virtually that of an automatic rifle.
Anybody on the receiving end would little appreciate the technical difference.

Pretty cool stuff!
I especially like those prices, make me think I'm a kid again.
I too have rat holed lots of ammo over the years and have yet to have any issues with it not firing.

Speaking of ammo, I was down at my lbs the other day and he had a few BRICKS of .22 lr! Two of those 500 round bricks came home with me!

Cool old ammo richardson! I love old ammo boxes especially if they are full.
Good price on those .22 Wade. I paid more than that recently when I bought 5000 rounds but figured I may not have another opportunity. Bird in the hand thing. You never know. Should last quite a long time.
Picked up 1000 rounds of quality Remington 9mm for 200 bucks last Sunday.

Wow, that's cool on the 9mm there Jerry. I love Remington ammo, both for my shotguns and my leveraction rifles. The Remington shot shells are wonderful for reloading.
I've been fortunate during the .22 dry spell to pick up 50 or 100 here or there of lr or shorts. I have three young boys who think shooting their .22's is the coolest thing in the world. It's worth it to me to keep them supplied in ammo and foster that love of firearms in them.

Those price stickers sure take me back. I can remember buying boxes of .22s at the local Western Auto Store for about that much money. Back then they kept the shelves stocked with ammo, and 22s were abundant. Now it's like hunting a needle in a hay stack to find them, so CONGRATULATIONS WADE!

Very cool Wade on keeping ammo stocked for your boys to enjoy. Nothing more enjoyable than shooting with your boys (young men and grandson in my case). Keep up the good work.Colonel26 wrote:Wow, that's cool on the 9mm there Jerry. I love Remington ammo, both for my shotguns and my leveraction rifles. my grandson is 6 and he loves shooting the Henry .22 I bought him. Almost time for a youth .410.
Take care my friend. Safe shooting. Jerry

Thanks guys! I just ran 100 rounds through her and I am very pleased, fairy accurate using Federal 115 grain. Over all I really dig her and the 12 round factory clips she came with are a perfect number for edc.
