Half a dozen GEC mods

Post by glennbad »

I just finished the last of this handful of mods, all for one customer...

All were pretty decent to begin with, but I think the materials he chose cranked them up a notch. Sorry, no before pics. Heres the first 2 , TC barlows in Bark elephant ivory.

These next 2 TC barlows were done in amboyna burl. Amazing swirls and character in this wood!

These last 2 started out as caplifters. The customer wanted barlow bolsters with some threading.

One I did in amboyna burl, and the other I did in buckeye burl...

Very nice handles, sir. I'm probably in the minority in that I do not like factory etched blades. Stamp the tang, keep other marks OFF MY BLADE!

Glenn, your skills continue to increase exponentially. That is just some splendid work. Slow down buddy, I'm running out of appropriate adjectives.

I think the time has arrived for you to start dabbling in original custom work.

Beautiful work, Glenn. Of the six I think I like the buckeye burl the best.

I would love to see a video tutorial on one of your glennbad Mercy conversions...making liners/ bolsters/ covers. You aren't also making backsprings, correct? I'd love to see a knife specific heat treat tutorial on backsprings...

Man, these guys used up all the great adjectives before I got here - NICE WORK GLENN! OH

Thanks for the nice words, everyone!

Nice materials sure make my work look better, LOL.

Yes, I would love to start making my own customs, I'm not set up for all that yet. And no spring work yet either.
