Old Keen Kutter Knives

Keen Kutter was first used as a knife brand by Simmons Hardware Company in 1870. The trademark was used on the highest quality tools and cutlery Simmons offered.

A terrific group of knives. ::tu::

That black and nickel really appeals to me.
I have a hunter with that same look. One of my favorite knives.

Joe, you should post a pic of that here. I was it in the group shot you posted in the hunter thread.

Thank you, Dan. Yes, it was in longBlades thread.
I was wondering if I had posted it here before and in my search I found that I posted another knife twice. ::facepalm:: A jigged bone equal end.
I did find the hunter on page 2 posted with two other knives and some ID conversation with Dimitri.
Also, on page 10, 1967redrider posted a knife that looks exactly like mine, but his is a 853 and mine is a 843. I wonder what the difference is.
I'm going to post pictures of my hunter again since I've already gone down the hell hole of over exposure and I'll make any excuse to show off my knives. Where else can you do it?
There's some guys in the grocery store who run and hide in the pharmacy when they see me coming. :D

Thanks for the kind comments all.

I loves these old Keen Kutters and when I get the chance I will post a lot of my collection. Still working on photographic technique.

I've tried quite a few times to win one of the folding hunters like FRJ's, so far, no luck. It's a nice one.

Fine collection of metal handled Keen Kutters, I especially like the engraved aluminum handles. Thanks for posting, msteele6.

Thank you, David. It's one of my favorite knives. It's some what lightly built and rather thin with the plastic scales. I like that. In fact the secondary blade is slightly flexible.

Hey, redrider, no problem, it's easy to mistype on these things, especially when we don't do all that much typing.
Well I'm glad there the same.

Thanks for the kind words. I used to not like metal handled knives but now the aluminum handled cattle knife is one of my favorites.

I mainly collect John Primble knives but the other day I bought a Keen Kutter bone handle knife. I'm really impressed with the quality of these old knives.

This is the only Keen Kutter I have in my Schrade collection.
It is an Old Timer "K8OT".
427, do you have any of the Primble knives Schrade made?
