Schrades Mother of Pearl
Hey guys I don't post here much but collect Schrade automatic knives . I have a question, anyone know what type of pearl was used by Schrade ( 1930/40s) ? buddy of mine donated me a scale to doll up my knife but it`s clearly white. The stock handles look yellow ish ( maybe gold lip)? so I figured I`d check in with ya`ll and maybe find a source for what I need . Thanks , check out some of my classic button openers in the switchblade forum

Re: Schrades Mother of Pearl
Schrade used standard mother of pearl on their knives, if your handles are yellow and don't exhibit the classic red and blue tints in the pearl, they're quite possibly celluloid.

It`s got the " fire" in it and is most certainly not celluloid . I read here somewhere that gold lip was used on there double ended switchblade knives back in the day but cannot find the post , just wanted to firm that up`s all since I only want to do one side and match it up close... does white MOP turn yellowish with time

I've got some fairly old pearl and none of it is yellow in the least.
