Leather Restoration ?

Post by Ringmaster »

Hi Guys, I just received my old Morseth today, from my cousin. He's had it about 20 years, I figure the knife and sheath are about 30 years old. Neway, he did absolutely no maintenance or cleaning on the knife or sheath while he had it.

I can take care of the knife part, but I'm NOT a leather worker. I'd like to clean the inside of the sheath, and then put some sort of "restorative" inside and out. I have a small, hard-bristled brush, but what cleaner do you recommend ? Will saddle soap work ?

I'd like to preserve the original sheath, it's kinda neat.

Thanks,
JR
