We had 7 kids in thew family and a double galvanized sink on a stand. I was lucky to be in the middle top group so the water wasn't too dirty or cold. ___Dave

We are having a picture perfect Christmas. The snow is clinging to the birch and popular trees and the pines are beautifully decorated with snow. Everything looks like a Christmas card and we only have about 6 inches of snow on the ground so getting out to see it isn't a problem. It's suppose to be nice over Christmas too (30 degrees and sun). I'm loving it.___Dave

So far, the "warmer than usual" is holding true for us. It will be interesting to see what January and February look like. If this rain we've had so far had been snow, we'd be in some real trouble.

Looks like we're headed for typical Texas Christmas weather. Sunny with highs in upper 60s. But the weather guessers are predicting another "significant rain event" starting Saturday. The almost 10 inches of rain we had at Thanksgiving put us over the previous record for wettest year ever. ::woot:: Merry Christmas!

Christmas in Alabama, 2015. We are having highs in the low to mid-70's and lows in the mid-60's.

Rainy, foggy.

High predicted for Christmas Day is 77 degrees.

Not unheard of, so I'm not ascribing this to global warming, it's just another cycle coming around again.

The year I got my red Schwinn five speed, it was so warm, I rode it in jeans and a tee shirt.

And, in order to tolerate our traditional fire in the living room fireplace, we had to have most of the windows and doors open.

Then start at your feet and wash up as far as possible. Then you wash "possible".

Jerry, that mighty pretty, but.... looks a little on the cold side to me, not having lived in that stuff we wouldn't know how to act ::shrug:: . But we do know how to act when it rains and let me tell y'all it came a "frog strangler" this evening. We had 2.6" in about 1 1/2 hours with enough lightning to lose power about 2 1/2 hours. We took a ride around the farm and the road into our place is flooded as are a couple of our farm ponds. Should have taken some pictures but didn't even think of it till we were a ways from the house. While we were ridin' around the power came back on ::ds:: . The frogs were all hollerin' as we were ridin' in the woods so I guess the ol' sayin', "it came a frog strangler", ain't exactly true.

It's pretty quiet up here in the frozen Northland except for the howling of the wolves across the bog lake behind us. They were getting pretty noisy last night. I know how to handle cold and snow (I've seen 55 below and snow about 4 feet deep in my years up here), but you can keep the 100 degree heat, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, poison snakes and spiders, rabies and all the other stuff that that we don't see much of because of the cold and snow. You notice I've been keeping a list and I think I have myself almost convinced it is worth the trade-off. I do consistently vote for El-Neno (or what-ever it's called) because a little more heat probably wouldn't do my stiff old fingers any harm.______Dave up here near Frostbite Falls.

Today started out sunny but turned cloudy and completely overcast before noon. Got up to 47 degrees with light breeze from north. Not a bad day to be outdoors but so muddy there's not a lot that can be done. Almost got stuck feeding cows this afternoon - thank goodness for 4-wheel drive. 15 inches of rain since Thanksgiving! Haven't been able to get equipment into the fields since then. :x Done about all we can in the shop - guess we're gonna have to start cleaning it next week. ::barf::

Weather.com says it's 9º. Local Time & Temp phone call says it's 3º. My atomic clock with remote outside temp module took a crap this summer so I threw it away and didn't replace it and now I'm confused to what the temp actually is.

I can testify to this, it's bloody cold out there. Just finished blowing what little snow we had last night that had drifted into some strategic spots. Is it true a couple of shots of bourbon will warm you up?

WE are sitting at 4 below right now which is 16 degrees warmer than when we woke up. The car started for church after a few growls that suggested it didn't think I was serious about going anywhere today. This is the first cold we have had this winter so we can't complain. Hope this doesn't mark a change in the jet stream. Sunshine sure is pretty though. Just doesn't warm you much. ___Dave

It was 77 here on Christmas Day, very unusual.

It's going to be a morning low in the 20's for the next several days.

I do not tolerate cold very well. Never have.

As we get older, Sarah becomes more and more hot natured and I become more and more cold natured.

We have dual thermostats in the SUV and heated seats, but there's going to be trouble in the house sooner or later. ::facepalm::
