Merry Christmas to me

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Merry Christmas to me

Post by Schradenut »

I have been very good this year, and i thought i would indulge in an outstanding knife for Christmas, to round the year out.
This little beauty popped its head up, and i couldn't resist it. It is probably one of my better knives.
It is a Schrade Loveless, white Delrin, which was deeply etched and Scrimmed by Shaw Leibowitz.
What do all you Schrade guys think of this one. I would be interested in comment good and bad, as it is a knife i previously knew nothing about.
These pics were taken by a good friend of mine, Doug Webber, and it is currently en-rout to Australia. Many thanks Doug.
Cheers,
Tony.

That is a beautiful knife Tony! I am not a fan of Scrim Shaw personally, however, I would definitely make an exception for one of these!

Tony
A beautiful knife .
It looks to be a Loveless design knife.
Good score.

That is a beauty Tony!
That must have been a special run for Shaw Liebowitz.
It looks like he acid etched the blades as well.

That is absolutely amazing! ::drool::

Been looking at one like that for awhile (might have been that one). Real short run, there are supposed to be some with gold leaf in the blade etch, as i understand. Wish i could pull the trigger on one that sweet. That would push my Schrade Rogers out of the center of my display case. Congrats. Randy

That is certainly a great catch. The Loveless pattern combined with Schrade execution and elaboration by Shaw Leibowitz is quite the combo. Congratulations on your good fortune and your good taste.

Great knife Tony! I gave myself a schrade for Christmas also. I was also good all week, so I got another one. We'll see how next week goes. Lol. Enjoy

Taking a few pictures of that knife was a small price to pay for the privilege of getting to hold it. A real work of art Tony.
