Schrade Walden NY ....Stockman? No Numbers

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Howdy
Well Wow I landed in a forum of fellow Schrade-a-Holics
I troll the auction site watching for Gently used relics from a bygone era of
Carbon Steel folding razors.
I have found one that sorta stumped me
I figured out its a '46-'50 stamp
It's stamped on all three blades
I paid about 20$ for it
I think I did ok
Can the experts tell me if its a fore runner of the 881 line

Don't know much about Schrade/Walden but there's a bunch of guys here that do. I'm sure they'll be around shortly to help you.

I'm a Case fan myself but I do like that knife. Nice!!

Welcome! I have a few old Schrade Walden knives # but I'm no expert. Those guys will be along shortly. But I agree, if it's 4 inches closed that's sure what it looks like. Very nice price too.

Looks like an 881 if it is in the four inch range. Early. Manmade handles or poorly cut bone. About 1952. Nice; I like it.

When I enlarged the pictures I could see the shrinkage of the handle material.
I am 99.9% sure it is a early composite of some sort.

I concur with Cal on the date, early 1950s.
