Harrison Bros & Howson ? Sheffield KNIFE . Need Info

Post by accujohn »

This pretty little thing is not really in my knowledge base but I couldn't resist when I found it. My preliminary checking tells me it's Harrison Brothers & Howson in Sheffield. Silver blade is assayed I believe to 1873. It's a san serif "F" that only seems to match that year. Any alternative info is welcome and appreciated. This may be a new area of interest for me as I really love this knife

That is a very classy and beautiful knife, John.

I got this information out of Levine's 3rd edition. Page 88.
I hope it adds to your information.

That's a beautiful knife accujohn ::tu:: I knew I saw that name before and had to search through my collection. Here's mine, but I think it may be more modern...however I'd have to do a bit more research to know the date for 'His Majesty'. Goins says 1847 - 1963. cheers

I believe the far left hallmark is a crown

This is a similar hallmark set, not so tiny, with a D instead of F

I've been told silver knives were good for cutting fruit and werewolves
