Well we had a pretty good winter compared to the last 2 here in New England (CT for me) but snow today - ::uc:: ... April 4... I think turning to rain later but you know in New England what they say about the weather - wait 5 minutes and it will change... we can get all 4 seasons in one day   ....

Charlie, you guys sure seem to have been in the bulls eye this winter all the way from Texas across the South and up the East coast. We've had a mild winter but the spring sure isn't in any hurry to get here. Been snowing for days, but it just doesn't get a chance to pile up. ___Dave

The area weather took a dip and it snowed yesterday. Melted off the streets & sidewalks right away but it really come a blizzard for a little bit and the grass got a light crust. Supposed to head back up into the 50s & 60s this week. Just more of that crazy Spring weather.

I'm supposed to go to my first Nats game of the season and it was snowing here in Alexandria earlier. Should be interesting. ::nod::

Snowed on the White Sox home opener. They played anyway.

I'm hoping they don't reschedule, but if they do I hope I get word before venturing over to DC. I'll be layered and prepped with antifreeze. ::super_happy::

Scott - like Lyle - I feel bad for you bro ::tounge:: .... I'll take that weather all day - I know what you are saying though - Fla can be hot ;-)

Lyle -I think not only the fruit trees but plants here as well - things started blooming and now they will suffer abit... all of nature is having problems - even the animals don't know here if they should keep hibernating or get the heck out of bed    .... The deer in our woods lost their winter fur - then it got cold again and think they are growing it back haahhahahahaa... our owls which are breeding this time of year (Barred Owls) have been around as you hear them at night but not as many as usual... I live in the woods so the birds & animals are my neighbors ;-)

We are still in winters grip with 25 degrees and snow today, but robins are back (hope they packed their longjohns) and the pussy willows are out of their winter covers. It's suppose to be in the 50's by Thursday. ____Dave

Strange weather here in North Texas today. Forecast was for highs in mid-seventies with chance of thunderstorms. Well, the thunderstorms rolled through about 6 AM, dumped about a half inch on us, and then the sun came out. Got up to a sultry 85 degrees by mid-afternoon, about 90% humidity. Then about 5 PM here comes the thunderstorms again, tornado watch, etc. Dumped another half inch on us, but the hail and high winds that hit Dallas area (reports of baseball size hailstones, 60 mph wind) missed us. Now the temp is down to low 60's, and dropping, with 20 mph north wind!

Won't be getting finished planting the grain sorghum this week. ::dang::

Wet spring here again so far this year. Got another 4 inches of rain last week. Then another 1-3/4 inches last night, along with 90 mph straight-line winds. Found this when I ventured out early this morning.

It was no match for a forty-plus year old Case 63047!

And a healthy assist from a Stihl chainsaw!

Thanks Larry. Great products and all made in USA too!

Several years ago I got tired of eating dust so got my first JD tractor with a cab. Wish I had done it sooner. The thing I like about the one in the picture is the 4-in-1 FEL bucket.

Also got tired of replacing or overhauling small-engine tools every two or three years, so started spending a little more to buy Stihl. Now IMHO anything else is a waste of money. That chainsaw is several years old and still runs like new. I don't know how many chains I've worn out. Seems like there's a tree down on a fence somewhere on the place every week!

That's what I was expecting two days ago when I came home. The wind was gusting around 40 mph most of the day and has been blowing hard for a week now. We have a bunch of 1 to 1 1/2 foot wide birches all around our house so I suppose one of these days one will go the wrong direction but all is holding for now. We don't get much wind here but this spring it just won't stop. I've been trying to side a barn with vinyl siding and the wind blows it off my scaffold and into the pasture. ___Dave

Re: THE OFFICIAL AAPK WEATHER THREAD - HOWS YOUR WEATHER TODAY ?

Well this is a little backwards. Northern Minnesota had the countries high temp. according to the local news. It was 92 today. Is that because Canada is on fire? We can smell the smoke, and a lady told me she had just driven down from International Falls, and the smoke from Canada was so thick they could hardly see to drive. It's way to hot for our thin winter blood to handle. I just put my long johns away for the season a couple days ago. My wife and I picket up a hitch hiker about a month ago because his car had broken down, and it was too cold to be out walking. He had a coffee cup with a lid on it, and as he was walking some coffee had spilled from it and had formed an ice sickle hanging from the bottom of the cup. What a difference a few weeks makes. ___Dave

Beautiful couple of days here in the 60's for highs and sunshine. The fires in Canada seam to have snuck across the boarder and there is now 3 of them in far North Minnesota. Hopefully this week brings some rain to green things up some more and drop the fire danger. They aren't near as large as the Canada ones, at least not yet. It sure was pretty on Lake Superiors North Shore yesterday. We didn't go up anywhere near the fire area.

Finally quit raining here, and it's actually warm enough for short sleeves. That's a refreshing change! I might have to go look for some mushrooms today
