The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.
Been on the scout for a R3843 for quite a while but never found one for a price I was willing to pay - bid on a few on eBay but always was outbid. Well this weekend I found one in very good condition, for a reasonable price. Adopted it and now resides in a good home in Texas! No handle chips or cracks that I can see, all blades function as they should except snap on master is a little weak. Knife is pretty dirty so it may perk up some after I clean it up.

If your religion requires that you hate someone, you need a new religion.
When the people fear their government, that is tyranny. When government fears the people, that is freedom.
Thanks for all the comments. Perseverance pays off!
Jerry I'm gonna get some Quick Release and give it a try after all the positives I've heard. Already got a lot of dirt out and improved snap with some Tuf-Glide.

It is nice to have a couple of other brands to collect. Sometimes when it seems like the prices on Cases get a little crazy I like to take a little break and concentrate on my Empires and a couple other brands. Gives you a new perspective when you get back into the Case Race.
