Statue of Liberty Commemorative
this one is numbered - #3726 What did they make? 10,000? 15,000? Also, from what I've seen, it looks like they were made in 1986.

I don't know how many they made, but I expect there were a bunch, looking at how many are for sale & how many sold on ebay.
They are beautiful but they don't seem to bring a price equal to the quality & beauty of the knife.
Just checked ebay- out of 9 sold most for $40 or less, mostly less!
There were two that brought more, one brought $66 and there was a Sterling Silver version that brought $92.

It would appear that these were a SFO for J.C.Penney, gearing up for production in 1984 and planned delivery in Autumn 1985. There were 15,000 planned with bone covers and a sterling round shield (I think a silver wash in the Aurum etch), and 500 with bone covers and sterling bolsters and a gold wash in the Aurum etch. Nice knives! They also had a cheesy display box and a poster.
