Appeared in Schrade's catalogs from 1978 to 1981.
Not as popular as one might think.

Re: Big Timer Sunfish 51OT
I always liked the pattern, but it was never all that popular a seller back when it was released. It fits the hand well, and is "enough blade" for most everything you would run into. it's an overbuilt knife for sure.
I've bought and rebuilt 3 of them over the years. Two were to petty to carry, the third is a pretty constant companion now when I'm in the outdoors.

Darksev, you should show more of your work; I know you have done some very nice knives.

I have several of the 51OT, I need to customize a few more.
Here is a picture of one I made 5 years or so ago with interior mammoth ivory handles.

Before I rebuilt my last one, I put some serious thought into putting all the parts into my 2d CAD program so I could, at some point, have some "new" parts blanked out and maybe build and grind my way to a full custom 51OT with modern steels and maybe a thumb hole opener, but then I realized that's alot of work and I don't have the kinda time or skills for that
