Schrade Old Timer 2OT In LL Bean Catalog 1961

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I thought that this was interesting - wonder if the 2OT had any LL Bean markings, like a blade etch. This catalog page is listed on Ebay right now (not my auction, I'm not bidding).

im sure bean labeled it..
as they did everything else

Can blow it up but not make it legible but as you can see, it does have a blade etch.

There was a thread some time back (2 years? 4?) with photos of the knife in question on the 'other' forum. Seems like its authenticity was questioned at that time, but I always thought it was the real deal. Yes, there was an etch.

The LL Bean 2OT referred to in above post was mine. I sold it to a most knowledgeable Schrade collector who was pleased with it. Etch was original.
