Case knife tang stamp dating

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

From mid 1993 thru 1999, Case used the dot system to date the knives. There are 10 dots under the USA,but only 7 years to remove dots.what am I missing here?

Here's a link to the AAPK Research page that has info on dating Case knives. http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/con ... ification/

For future reference it can be accessed by clicking on Research up there ^ at the top of the page. ::handshake:: There's more great info contained there than a person can digest, but I sometimes forget it's there. ::facepalm::

I'm sure you already know this but just in case you don't:

Go to wrcase.com.
At the top of the page, click on "Case College".
Scroll down to "Tang Stamps" and click on that.
Click on whatever date section you're interested in and watch the image supersize to give you dates year by year. ::tu::
