Portland Oregon got 8-12" of snow today. The whole city same to a screeching halt!
Some of this morning's commuters are still stuck in traffic.

I am about 45 miles to the south and we only has a couple inches today, but the snow has not completely melted in nearly 4 weeks!
It ain't supposed to do that here in the Willamette Valley!

O degrees F right now. They were forecasting some -- minus 45F, or so, by the weekend. Now they are saying it will be warmer.
Thing is our propane (for the cookstove) freezes at around -40. So while shopping earlier this week, we stocked up on some microwave dinners. Cashier mentioned that all us the old-timers were stocking up.

Left Alexandria yesterday and it was 71°, get to Cumberland and it's 74°. Now they're calling for ice and sleet starting at Midnight. Holding out hope for some XC skiing around the farm tomorrow.

It is 66º here in central Texas this morning. It got up to something in the mid-80s yesterday and will likely get back there today. This is unseasonably warm, even for us. I'm back into my shorts until it cools some.

Supposed to get up in the 40s-50s next week. That's unusual for N. Illinois in January but I'm not complaining.

Thaddaeus, that -45º business is just one more reason I don't live in Alaska. Brrrr

Why do y'all live there? When the temperature gets to +45 we all near about freeze to death here in the Panhandle.

Need to change oil in '16 van today. That oil moniter makes me nervous, car has 6000 miles on it and hasn't come on. Need to change oil before rain comes in later on today. ftd

BRRrrr! That is too cold for man or beast. It is almost 49º here and supposed to get well into the 70s later today.
Mornin' fellers. I'll plug the coffee pot in and fire up the grill. Nothin much planned for the day.

I remember 50 below once here. I got the car started with a heater but needed gas. The gas pumps in town froze and broke off when someone before me tried to bend them to get it into his tank. Our coldest temp for today was in 1968 and was -44. Our warmest for today was +44. We are suppose to get rain and 38 degrees today and stay near or above freezing for the next 10 days.____Dave
