BT knife from Chat forum
I tried to post some pics of this knife in response to a question in the live chat forum. I am unfamiliar with that form of the forum and in fact have been told in the past that i did not know enough to know if I was alive or not. Apparently in that section you can only post one pic so I am posting them here. LT PS Again I am not familiar with what these are being sold for since the ones I have were given to me and in my collection.

No No No special edition for bomb work at least that is what the guy who designed it told me ex agent nice guy can't drink for s... what is the country coming to. seriously it is correct. LT Guess it was for digging up roadsides or opening oysters. Again it is after my time and I accepted it as another toy in the pile. I do not post broken knives without mentioning it.

I like the dog in the AVATAR what is his or her name do you raise them? I really did not mean to come off rude if I in my limited way can ever assist it is always my pleasure. That is if you can stand my strange sense of humor . Hey Randy could you come over and shovel my driveway it seems to be snowing every day. I believe a small plow for the 4X4 ranger might add some years to my program. It might be time to up my ante from the snow blower . Here are some New Years pics of some recent stuff which has come in and I have not cleaned up or put away. As you can see some have problems the silver gents needs a spring for the small shears. The farmers jack in cell is a bit down but these are fairly rare and I did not feel the expense out weighed the rarity. Small pearl with masonic inlay. A budding actually grafting knife ( like new ) with the unusual debarking blade. They also made at least one other model with this blade a farmers jack I have the one off the Schrade wall of that version. A 9593 pattern 4 blade camper with the weird can opener. The guy said it was delrin and that the main blade had some movement ( at its age it should wobble a bit ) However it really dosent have any appreciable wobble and no drop. They never made them in delrin so it is perfect bone as I figured. This is a rare pattern and it went for 35 bucks ( approx ) amazing. As I said they have not been cleaned up. Now the other camper is a S7463 now this is a very rare pattern . It has the even weirder opener with the prestolite key notch. I have only seen a couple of them . This was one I have searched for this was a bit more expensive around 350 and with that, one of our members was polite enough to contact me and knowing of my interest did not cost me even more. I will not mention who that was so as not to embarass him. So any way Thankyou Charlie. There is a small embossed knife from Poughkeepsie NY. It looks like it was a freeby given to people who had safety deposit boxes in 1930 . It commerates from 1830 until 1930 100 years of banking. I guess if your bank was still going in 1930 and you still had a safety deposit box you had something to celebrate ( since there was a depression going on ). Poughkeepsie is on the East side of the Hudson about 25 miles away I however live on the western side. I am not one of those Danged easterners. When I retired I worked security at the Leiman Loeb art museum at Vasser college ( just for something to do since I had lost someone close and could not sit home ). They paid excellant money I wore a suit my orders were to not do or touch anything and in case of robbery just do not let any of the kids get hurt. All they wanted was a body with a great portfolio in security. Vasser was an amazing experience these people have no idea of the real world having that much money must be a wonderful thing, in any event part of my duties was to check the humidity where the mummy was kept yes a young girl now 3000 years old who they hid away since they werent sure if it was presently politically correct to still have . You can bet Vasser did not want to be politically incorrect. I guess you could say that I was the mummys daddy, at least while I was employed there.
Now I started this rambling because of the Poughkeepsie knife. The reason was because I am sure someone out there will remember POPEYE DOYLE a character in the Movie the French Connection . The character was taken from an actual NYC detective. In the movie he asks a suspect ( to sort of mess up his mind) if he ever picked his feet in Poughkeepsie. So if any one cares and before you ask, yes with the amount of time I had at Vasser I did pick my feet in Poughkeepsie and any other part I felt like picking. Here are the pics which you deserve after that story. Again nothing earth shattering but I felt like doing something different on a Snowed in New Years Day. These pics are with the new ( Not ) so easy share camera and i am still feeling it out. Have a good New Year lets hope we all make another I am fed up burying people and things so I am counting on you to make a real effort to take care. LT

LT. , no sir, you didn't offend me in any way. And if I offended you in any way, I'm sorry Sir. I was just asking about the tip of the knife for my own education, just in case I ever came across a knife like it I would know if it was right oe wrong. The German Shepard in the avatar is a reminder of my 130lb. AKC regestered dog Rocky. He was a giant baby. I raised him from 4 weeks old. He pasted away. He was 10 on Dec. 8. The bad thing about it was that my youngest son came home from school and found him on our porch pasted away. Him and that dog grew up together. I've had 40 or 50 pups from Rocky. Alot were sold to different law enforcement agencys in a couple of states. I've trained alot of dogs in my life and in my opinion the German Shepards are the smartest by far, if they are bred right. After Rocky passing, I want no more. I've got to quit talking about him now, I have tears in my eyes as I write this. It's really a hard thing for me to do. I'll respond in a little while about the knives you posted here. I just need a little time at the moment.
A dull knife is like an empty wallet, no need to carry it.

Sorry for your loss . I seem to have a way of opening wounds and being around sorrow and death, always have all my life. Believe me I understand I guess that is why I surround my self with old knives and old whiskey a good knife will never let you down if you do not abuse it and old whiskey is always faithful in that if you do abuse it you know exactly what you will get in return. Animals have much more integrity than people I guess that is why I for one ( with a few exceptions ) prefer them to people. I was trying not to get mauldlin ( as I usually do this time of year ) however as you can see even my most well intentioned attempts seem to hurt someone. Again my apology. Charlie funny you mention it I was just talking to D Ruger about it ( the museum). We have looked at a couple of buildings however they are unacceptable. However if plan A fails there is plan B. My New Years resolution is to realize my own mortality I want to take one day at a time and if it works fine if not it will not matter to me any more ( where I will be going ). As Yogi Berra said "The future aint what it used to be".
Anyway both those patterns are quite rare. After 50 plus years they are both the first of each I have owned. The four blade needs a touch of buff I tried to bring up the bolsters with metal polish however 2 seconds on the scotchbrite wheel will make them as new. The trouble is it requires a walk across the frozen tundra to get to that particular building then of course there is my natural mechanical acumen which means 1, I might get it done 2, it might fly from my hands and smash and break against a wall, which believe me has happened and with some rare pieces. the third option is that I will get it done and it will fly from my hands and stick in me which while not as preferred as #1 is better than #2. Perhapes tomorrow I will put on my artic white army issue moon boots and attempt the trek. Of course should I go down while outside there is no one to feed the cats and with my carcuss outside they couldn't even feed off my butt. An interesting question but again I guess it would not matter much to me anymore. I could wait till spring but that would require more patiences and intelligence than I posess. in fact to make it interesting I think I will have a few belts before attempting it ( just to give the fates an even shot ). I guess I better feed the guys ( cats ) first and fill up there bowls. Maybe I will do it tonight now that would be sporting . Sometimes I feel like the guy who wanted to be famous he used to tell people to look for his name in the paper. When they would ask why his answer was because he smoked in bed. LT PS Nice to know ya Duf you got heart and those people are the best.

LT, it was nothing you said to bring up old memorys of Rocky. I've had him on my mind ever since he passed away, ever more so today. It is snowing and cold here now and everytime the weather got cold like this, I would bring him in the house and fix him a steak or give him his chocolate brownies. That's whats had him on my mind today. So please Sir, don't convict your self of something you didn't do. I'm sorry for sounding like a little girl that lost her kitty cat. It's just so hard to not see Rocky following a half a step behind my son when he goes outside. When my son was younger, he would take a sandwich and go out on the porch and set down to eat it. As usual Rocky would come lay beside my son. My son would take a bite off the sandwich then let Rocky take a bite off of it. GOD knows my heart, and how much I love and miss Rocky. It's hard to imagine the hurt that my son feels, being that him and Rocky were so close....................................................................................................Now about your knives that you posted, what brand is the knife in the 5th picture with the two blades, long pull on master blade and the funny can opener? I really like the way it looks.

Everything but the poughkeepsie is a Schrade cut 03-46 except the debarker that is an early Schrade Walden 46-72. I have two cats and if something happened to them I believe most everyone in town would cross the street after seeing the look in my eyes . I always when i have ice cream put some on my finger for them to taste first. Very few people make fun of my attitude towards my animals. At least in person and to my face. In fact I really would appreciate it if they did I have some real issues and could use some release. I see nothing wrong with shooting an animal if it is for food nor do I have any problem with someone having the humanity to care for and about an animal that has given years of loyality and asked nothing but not to be abused . I have seen people die in the morning and it has not affected my lunch. However I still remember with sorrow a small insignificant cat that I had to put away on Thanksgiving day 3 years ago. If it is any consolation it seems Rocky had a pretty good life and people who cared for him that is a lot more than a lot of people have. People should come before animals however I must admit that sometimes it is tough to live by that philosophy knowing some of the people I have. However it does not in my opinion make anyone weak because of how they feel about a pet. It does in my opinion make them stronger if they have the courage to admit that feeling. LT

Schrade made to my knowledge 3 models of the utility type knives with the prestolite hole in it. I am in the middle of a project and just came across the more recognized ( however still rare) version so I thought I would post a pic. This is with my new Kodak 10 MP which I am learning on the other pic was with my old 1.5 Mav. Tell me what you think on the pic if anyone has a chance. LT

Hey, you're getting pretty good at this pitcher...er, PICTURE stuff.
That's a good clean, crisp picture.
Now you'll need to post more often to get your monies' worth from the camera.
Fine old specimen! I mean the knife of course.
