Ima wearin a Howdy Doody belt

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I'm not Ken, but you're welcome.

I'm Richard, by the way.

Sorry about that fellas - Richard has been around here a lot longer than me. When I signed up here I was surprised when the user name mumbleypeg (the way I've always spelled it) wasn't already taken. I used that name on another site where I use to hang out some. It was a year or so later that I realized there was a mumblypeg (Richard), when he won the monthly knife giveaway and they tried to send his knife to me, even though I didn't have anywhere close to the winning number. After I figured it out I had a dickens of a time explaining it to the folks trying to send me Richard's knife, but we finally got it straight.

I've thought about changing my handle to avoid confusion but not sure how or if I could do that without starting over. ::shrug:: So far it's not been a big problem for me but if it's causing any problems for Richard I'll change mine to something else anyway.l

Oh and BTW, nice find Dave! HET!
