NKCA Stag Whittler 1980 - Broke?

Can't seem to figure out if this is missing a piece or not....none of the blades snap, but they're not loose....
Is this the way the knife should be?

Any help would be appreciated....

That is missing a chunk of spring :shock:

That is weird. Two springs and both broke at exactly the same point just as clean as if they were cut!

Chances are someone tried to open a second blade when one was at the halfway position;happens all the time. ::dang::

So I said to myself.......even if this was fixed I'd never carry it, so it's stayin' broke and shiny!
