Today's Mystery Brand

I just got this knife in the mail today - it is from a lot of knives that I won on fleabay. I had no idea what I was buying, just took a chance on the lot.

Anyway, this is a heavy built jack with extra thick blades and backsprings. The brand I have never heard of - any info anyone?

The tang stamp is:

THE F.R. CO.
FULTON
NY

I've never heard of them, but it appears to be a well built knife!

I'm going to have to get me one of those Goins books..................invaluable. Even though I've pretty much stopped collecting vintage.

c1920-1930. a marking used by fulton razor co., fulton, new york.

Great looking knife from New York. Rare brand to find. Fulton Razor was the company but not sure if they made their own knives and razors.

If you ever want to sell it let me know.

OK. My two cents worth.
I have no idea if Fulton Razor and Fulton Cutlery were one in the same.
And, I do not think the F.R. Co. knife illustrated at the beginning of this thread falls into the knife category I'm about to talk about.

As a Robeson collector, I have owned several knives over the years marked, "F.C.Co. FULTON, N.Y."
Each one was an obvious and familiar Robeson product. The best one I ever had was a 3 1/2" brown bone whittler. I let a whittler collector talk me out of it at one of the Springfield, MO shows several years ago. I do not currently have a Robeson/Fulton knife.
Every one I ever owned had had the Robeson tang mark ground off (incompletely in each case), and the Fulton mark stamped over it. The pattern numbers were still in place.
I do not believe the knife above to be a Robeson product. It just isn't familiar. And the tang mark looks original to the blade.
