Need help on a new pickup: Hammer Brand with Celluloid)?) Covers

I picked this up today for a whopping $4, a pretty good deal I think. The knife is in really good shape in my opinion but needs a little bit of work.

I believe the covers are celluloid but am not positive. How can I tell for sure? The action is good ok it but I can feel a little grit in it so I'd like to clean and oil it. What should I do or not do if they are celluloid?

The knife is a Hammer Brand shell handle (note the tabs on the ends of the "bolsters") and the handles are covered with a thin Celluloid "wrap". I would throw it in my sonic cleaner with a couple of drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid, rinse it, dry it with the air hose and give the joints a shot of Quick Release but that's just me. No sonic cleaner ya say? Then scrub it with a toothbrush and some water mixed with a couple of drops of Dawn. Then follow the other steps detailed above.

I do have a cheap jewelry-sonic cleaner; will that do the job?

I can't find Quick Release locally; is there an equivalent product I might be able to find?

When a knife is stiff, or has some goo that won't come off using normal methods, I just use good ole' WD-40. Then, as soon as the rust is removed with fine steel wool, I wash it in dish detergent and warm water, then dry it and oil it with 3 in 1.

Sure. Just pitch it in your sonic cleaner for two or three cycles and any household oil (as Cody said, 3in1 works fine) will work if you can't get Quick Release. I can't get it locally either and have to buy it online. That knife looks to be in good condition. It's worth a little effort.
