Need help identifying these knives
Just received these knives. Smaller pen knives which appear to have had the maker's names purposely removed, leaving only the "USA" mark. Was this possibly done by the maker to sell or release them as seconds? Their pattern numbers are 48 and 705. I was thinking possibly Schrade? Any help would be much appreciated.

Chevy, i don't know who made these 2. Knowing the maker would not affect value. Small pocket knives (pens or jacks) with man made handles rarely sell for more than $25 and less when part of marking removed or used.
I don't know the reasons for grinding off part of the markings but knives like this show up regularly.

The ivory colored handle one looks like the nail mark was cut too close to the swedge and the pivot pin is sunk too deeply into the bolster. Not sure why the other one was deemed a "second"(the reason the name was ground off).
EDIT: On a second look the #48 knife also has the pivot pin sunk into the bolster(too short to finish).

If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Thanks again guys. Neat little "user" knives to add to my collection.
