Continental Cutlery Co, Kansas City

Post by 58chevy348 »

Does anyone else have any Continental Cutlery Company knives from Kansas City ? This one measures 4 1/2 inches closed. I'm assuming this is a fairly obscure company. Love the bone handles on this one.

John Goins places Continental in England, New York and Kansas City and he dates them pretty much the same or consecutively, in that order.

Whether the three are connected or just coincidentally have the same name, I do not know.

Every Continental Cutlery Co. knife with the New York stamp that I've seen appears to have been made by Robeson and I have a letter on Robeson letterhead re' a shipment of Continental knives from 1913.

I cannot speak for the Kansas City marked knives.

Your knife does not look "Robesonish" to me, but the blades have been repinned, so we really don't know if they've always been in that frame.
