Hi S-K,
I went through and removed the members who joined and never activated their accounts. Also, I got rid of the goof balls who signed up just to post their off topic websites in a feable attempt to get them indexed by the search engines (spammers). Just trying to clean things up a little
As a matter of fact, just since the other day, there have been several more spammers who have joined... If you go to the last page of the members list link, you will see members with websites attached for all kinds of crap. I'm going to get them removed asap.
I had this problem taken care of a long time ago by writing a custom registration program, but I switched back to the old registration system while I upgrade the site and they are getting through again. ...Just a little behind the scene preview of what goes on with these forums. Spammers are EVERYWHERE on the net... Drives me nuts!

Byran & S-K these numbers to me represent a vast knowledge of knife collectors, traders, sellers, I know AAPK is not a household name like
W.R. Case & Sons in the knife world but if you look at the number of members on the CCC forum they are almost the same, that said I think you are doing something very right so please keep it up !!
I love this site !!
Thanks !
Roger

Suggest Open Season on Spammers No Bag Limit
The number of members that are true knifers and the knowledge base that is represented by our members is what makes this a great site, full of resources. Keep up the good work, keep growing in the same direction.
Spammers have been the bane of my existance for a long time, also those that just want to hook up for a free ride. Fighting these people can be a full time job.
To bad they are a sub species of the human race. Otherwise, we could have an open season with no bag limit to reduce the spammer population.
Sorry, I'm just having a pleasant fantasy moment.

Bryan I see a bunch more spammers have signed on since you cleaned up the other day.
Is there any thing us real members can to to discourage or stop them? I feel like sending them PM's or emails with jibberish just to harass them and waste their time. But I don't know if it would work or if it's the right way to go about it.
I really think this is a great site and feel it does a lot of good for us in the knife community. I for one would like to see it stay this way.
We don't need spammers polluting this place up!

site. You are the best administrator with whom I have had the pleasure of working. I have experienced some larger membership knife and gun sites, but none of them are truly sensitive to their members. Keep on working with the zeal that you have shown and you will surpass these other competing sites. Feel free to call me if I can help.
